Amash Scores a Big Win for Privacy

Republican House leadership tried to jam through an expansion of the Patriot Act with almost no consideration. The bill, H.R. 5606, would have allowed the government much greater freedom to search your financial records without a warrant – extending well beyond terrorism investigations. Rep. Justin Amash rallied conservatives, libertarians, and civil liberties Democrats to kill the bill.
