Race to Freedom: Raw Perspectives From a Black Libertarian | Diamond-Michael Scott | Ep 22

What does freedom look like when you stop waiting for permission to live it?

In Episode 22 of Real Unity, host Sienna Mae Heath sits down with independent journalist, writer, and Advocates for Self-Government editor-at-large Diamond-Michael Scott for a raw conversation about race, individual liberty, Taoism, agorism, and life beyond conventional political categories.

As a Black libertarian and Taoist, Scott reflects on the experiences that shaped his unconventional worldview and his commitment to thinking for himself—even when that means stepping outside the expectations of any particular group.

Together, Sienna and Diamond explore what comes after resistance. Once you’ve said “no” to institutions, coercion, and systems you no longer trust, what do you say “yes” to? Can voluntary exchange, private property, radical generosity, self-sufficiency, and genuine human relationships provide the foundation for a freer society?

The conversation moves from counter-economics and the philosophy of Lao Tzu to critical thinking, consent, community, and the tension between individual rights and our moral obligations to one another.

Ultimately, the question isn’t simply whether we are free from something—but what we are free to build, create, and become.
