Everybody already seems to have an opinion about democratic socialism. You either love it like Bernie Sanders and AOC do, or you loath it with a burning passion. But what are we really arguing about? If you stop and listen, those two words, democratic and socialism, can mean fundamentally different things to different people. So, who’s right? Matt Kibbe breaks it down word by word in the latest video from the “Let’s Talk About…” series.

Was it really conservative? I mean, the guy just said that everything is complicated and we need to actively discuss such topics in order to reach consensus. If I’m wrong pls correct me.
Hey, Matt!
The Greeks didn’t have as rosy a picture of democracy as you suggest. Aristotle called it mob rule and included democracy in his list of corrupted forms of government. The Founders knew this and that’s why we have a republic, which aims to balance the interests of all classes.
Today people use and abuse all there terms: democracy, socialism and republic. The key, as you know, is liberty or tyranny.
Hey Al, great to hear from you. Good point. In hind sight I wish I would have just focused on “democracy,” as it has now been elevated to near deity status by the Biden administration. This is a new version I think potentially more toxic than Democratic Socialism
