Dr. James Coates is the pastor-teacher at GraceLife Church of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. He has been pastoring there for more than 13 years. In 2021, James was arrested for opening his church in violation of COVID-19 restrictions. He is a graduate of the Master’s Seminary (MDiv, DMin), co-author of “God vs. Government: Taking a Biblical Stand When Christ and Compliance Collide,” and author of “Preaching and Hearing God’s Word.” During his interview with host Sienna Mae Heath, Coates discusses the God-centered process of forgiving foes and showing love in adversity, commitment to faith during social upheaval and spiritual warfare, and how the story of The Garden of Eden offers wisdom on the creation of relationships.
